The Circle of Life

Image
A special day it was— Brimming with joy and laughter, Dreams by the dozen, Wishes and blessings galore A day of celebration. A couple of years passed, The day came again. Our love had deepened, And so had we. We were four in number A special day of love and togetherness. Decades passed. We grew older, gracefully. It was just us this time Awaiting phone calls, And handwritten cards. Yet, near or far, We celebrated. In a few years, We grew in number once again, And the wishes doubled. Two more special days Etched themselves into our hearts. The more, the merrier The celebration bloomed. After a few more years, Life changed again One final time. But this time... We reduced in number. Still, the day returned, And I longed to celebrate Even in your absence. For that was a day That deserved to be honored. A day that gave me you The love of my life, My soul’s companion. Today, after four decades, I'm still celebrating our special...

Be Your Own Light!

Image
The last few years Had been difficult. We have come this far Walked the winding path, Taken the grueling journey, With hurdles aplenty, With setbacks so many. Where there was light, There is now darkness. Throughout. Everywhere we see. Moving forward seemed impossible In the start. “No way, I can’t see a thing,” I told you. 'Sshh… Wait for it to settle. We're in this together. We’ve got this!' You whispered. And so it did. We squinted through the inky black. A path slowly appeared. It seemed rough, Winding and isolated But our only way forward. Err… 'Should we?', 'What if?', 'Why can’t?' A million questions buzzed through my head As we stood there hand in hand, Weighing our choices. Shall we call for help? Somebody might turn up? Why take the risk? I asked, frantically. You contemplated for a moment And hesitantly agreed. So we called out For help To all those we knew, To all those dear and near, To all...

It’s Ticking Away!

Time  It changes the narratives. Oh yes, my friend! It does. Are you worried? Are you dejected? Are you losing hope? Hang in there, my friend For this too shall pass. Are you elated? On cloud nine? Basking in the glory of your success? Well, you totally deserve it, my friend. Enjoy the moment while it lasts... But just remember This too shall pass. The Universe has you on a run, my dear, Driving you from highs to lows, In turns, In a never-ending loop In a giant Ferris wheel That carves out a perfectly balanced Landscape of emotions. Never too happy, Never too sad, Never too successful, Never too dejected, Never too doubtful, Never too complacent. For It’s all a matter of time, Before you realise how you feel. So, as we chug along on the tracks of time, Let’s learn to enjoy the journey And not fret too much about our destination. For all you know, Your next stop could be your best, Your worst, Or maybe even your last. Let’...

Bravo !!!

Today, I clapped for myself For daring to wander the unbeaten mile,   For trying - with no applause in mind,   For crafting, not for the world,   But for the quiet soul within.   For discovering the real 'me', Lost over the years,   And retrieving her with all my might   From deep within  Shrugging off inhibitions   That weighed me down,   And insecurities that clung   Like dead weight.   Here's to breaking free-  To meeting 'me', anew.   And through that mirror,   Getting introduced   To the OG 'me'.   I stitched together   Fragments of feeling and flickers of thought,   Not to impress,   But to express.   I did not flinch   At the silence that followed,   Nor paused for the echo   Of another’s praise.   Today, I...

Repeat Them! – An Ode to the Givers

Image
How often do we pause to utter a word of appreciation, when we see someone striving to give their best? A word of encouragement, when someone is working hard toward their goals? A word of consolation, when someone is recovering from an incomparable loss? A word of understanding, when someone is navigating a difficult time in life? A word of support, when someone is stranded, handling it all alone? A word of motivation, where there is dejection and a loss of hope? “I ain’t got the time,” you might comment. “Why should I, when I haven’t received any?” you might defend. “Not my business,” you may reject and scroll over. And to top it all... Ah! Golden words aren’t often repeated, my love. But… Why not? If they can really make someone feel a lot better— why not? Givers never lose their worth by giving, unless they expect something in return every single time. Why shouldn’t the change begin with 'you' this time? Why not? ...

Genesis - A Journey from the Ashes to Stardom

Image
Ah! Not anymore. Not any longer. I've seen it all. Tried with all I have left. I've endured enough— Tolerated to every extent... But no... I'm done. I'm so done. I tried to muffle the voice roaring from within in utter despair. I tried to imagine I could hear nothing. But no... The voice grew louder. "I don't blame you. You have every right to feel this way," I tried consoling the voice. But it sneered with sarcasm. "We've come this far. Just hang on a little longer. Trust me on this. Just this once. One last time," I pleaded, as I heard the voice exhale deeply— Fuming with pent-up anger and disappointment. The road to success— The much-glorified path That achievers talk about. The grueling journey That makes you want to return home midway, That drains every ounce of your energy, That makes every fibre of your body scream in pain. That merciless bootcamp That makes you yearn for comfort and solace— A moment of peace, A...

Seasons of the Heart

Image
As unpredictable as the weather Was time. Changing like the seasons Were the people. Friends turned foes. Close ones grew distant. Some came, some left. Some brought joy that burst like spring, Some left behind the chill of winter. Some gave memories wrapped in laughter, Others carved lessons deep in silence. Some were forgotten, While others lingered - Like the scent of rain on dry earth. There were times when life felt perfect - Just the way it was. And times when it turned bitter and wild, A long, winding road Woven with shadows, Yearning for a sliver of light. Moments spent in great company. Moments that never returned. Moments in deep solitude, Wandering through thought and wonder, Dreaming of a distant future. Come what may, Like the saying goes - Life goes on. As you desperately Seek something constantly In this vast, shifting universe, You begin to realise - If there ever was a constant In this ever-changing world, It must be change itself. The moment you surrender ...
