Today, I clapped for myself
For daring to wander the unbeaten mile,  
For trying - with no applause in mind,  
For crafting, not for the world,  
But for the quiet soul within.  

For discovering the real 'me',
Lost over the years,  
And retrieving her with all my might  
From deep within 
Shrugging off inhibitions  
That weighed me down,  
And insecurities that clung  
Like dead weight.  

Here's to breaking free- 
To meeting 'me', anew.  
And through that mirror,  
Getting introduced  
To the OG 'me'.  

I stitched together  
Fragments of feeling and flickers of thought,  
Not to impress,  
But to express.  

I did not flinch  
At the silence that followed,  
Nor paused for the echo  
Of another’s praise.  

Today, I basked 
In the golden hush of creation,  
In the soft, resounding joy  
That only the heart can hear.
