When does your heart skip a beat?

For a romantic,
It could be that heart-stealing smile
Or that mirror-shattering gaze from their lover.

For a nature lover,
It could be a breathtaking sunset
Or the miraculous unveiling of nature’s wonders,
Rekindling their love for creation once again.

For a music lover,
It could be the haunting melody
Of a favorite song
Or the soul-caressing voice of their beloved singer.

For a dancer,
This may not sit well—
For they would never want to miss a beat in reality!
(Lol!)

To a physician,
This might mean serious business—
Arrhythmias, irregular heartbeats—
A true cause for concern.

To a woman who has conceived,
That first rhythmic flutter of a tiny heart
Can make her own skip a beat,
Leaping with boundless joy.

To a die-hard fan,
The first glimpse of their idol,
So close they turn to stone,
Could be their heart-skipping moment!

To a student awaiting exam results,
The first flash of their marks on the screen
Makes the poor heart hop, skip, jump—
And maybe even freeze.

No matter the reason,
As long as something in life
Touches your heart,
Gives it that little jolt,
You are living!
You are alive and kicking!

Revel in the beauty of these fleeting moments,
The experiences they bring,
The lessons they impart.
For it is in these moments
That life plays its unscripted melody—
Pauses and crescendos, silences and bursts—
A rhythm that is uniquely yours.

So, the next time
Your heart skips a beat,
Just smile, listen, and say to yourself—
I am the music. I am the dance.
I am alive and kicking!
