Breathing Between the Binary
Binary!
Wasn’t that meant for machines?
Since when did we start moving in sync,
Like products on conveyor belts,
Waiting to be claimed by the world?
Were we created to function like pre-programmed apps?
Where is the living?
Where is life?
Why must it always be this or that?
One way or the other?
Why pick black or white,
When an entire spectrum—
Even the alluring shades of grey—await?
What are we chasing after?
Time?
Whose time—yours or mine?
Are we running toward something—
Or merely running away?
Why walk a straight road,
When you can glide through twists and turns,
Dwell in the highs and lows,
And make the journey worthwhile?
Why live like clockwork,
When you could savor
The quiet joys of every fleeting moment?
Why chase perfection,
When peace comes from embracing
Every flaw—
Wholeheartedly, unapologetically?
Wear your heart on your sleeve.
Live as if this moment
Will be your last memory.
How special would you want it to be?
So while you zoom past,
Chasing time and borrowed dreams,
Entangled in an endless loop
That drains the life from your being—
I’ll pause.
I’ll stop at that roadside stall,
On the hairpin bend,
Sipping my well-earned chai from the hills,
Basking in nature’s quiet glory.
And while you gather medals,
I’ll gather moments—
Rich with life, not just existence.
Forget the 0s and 1s.
Breathe into the spaces in between.
BE !
Because, my dear,
Binary was meant for machines—
Not for you.
