She Who Wears the Night

Tiny little specks of frozen blue light
Sewn into the vastness of a fabric, deep grey and light,
Adding a touch of sparkle here and there.
Adorning the gown she chose to wear.

The sweet breeze stirring
Delicate ripples,
As I watch the grey fabric sway,
And wisps of blonde meander away,

Revealing a pristine facade,
Radiating a light so pure,
Shining bright and clear,

A presence so divine,
Instilling calm,
Like the tranquil peace of a shrine,
Lifting one gently
To a vivid meditative state.

Rejoicing in the sheer beauty
Of the moment,
Experiencing something
So true, so genuine.

It brings a tear or two,
As one gazes at that radiant glow,
Watching it fade,
Growing faint and light
With the passing night.

Disappearing into a vastness,
Painted in hues of peach and orange,
As golden light embraces the world,
Filling hearts with warmth
And sweet memories
Of that fleeting beauty.

A longing stirs,
Like the heart of a yearning lover,
For one last glimpse of her gentle glow
From the night before.

Until we meet again
Later Tonight.

I shall wait for your return,
Eyes fixed on the distant horizon,
As the orange light fades,
Announcing your arrival,
And drifting away,

Like a soldier,
Bowing to his princess—

My beautiful Moon Princess!
