My (Forever) Constant

How far would one go for love?  
How far would one stand strong,  
Protecting their family against the trials of time and fate?  
How far could one remain resolute,  
Even in the darkest moments of life?  

How far would one forgo for love,  
Choosing selflessness over ease,  
Empathy over apathy,  
And loyalty above all?  

This gentleman I'm married to,  
My life with him,  
Are a testament to the answers to these questions.  

Today, all I feel is gratitude—  
For his existence in this world,  
For his presence in my life,  
For his love and warmth,  
Which have breathed new life into me  
Since the day our paths crossed.  

He is an amazing human being—  
And, needless to mention,  
My favorite one,  
Now and always.  

He inspires me.  
I am privileged to know him in this lifetime.  
I thank the Universe for him.  

I am humbled by his love,  
And will always adore and respect  
The incredible person he is.  

He is a blessing to everyone who has the honor of being part of his life.  

I love him to eternity and beyond—  
My better half,  
My constant,  
My husband.  
Forever.

This poem is dedicated to my husband, Mr. K.B.Vishal. It's been thirteen years since we first met but this wonderful human has not ceased to amaze me till date.

It was just another night at Westin’s Colony, a residential area comprising around fifty houses, nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the town.
