Who heals the Healer ?

Doctors!

They sacrifice their very lives to save others, often at the expense of their own happiness, their families, and their futures.

And yet, today, it’s no longer about saving the patient. It’s about:

             SAVING THE DOCTOR !

There was a time when proper healthcare was a luxury, when lives were lost and people simply blamed it on fate. The bitter truth is that we didn’t have the resources or cures to save those lives.

Today, we live in a world of extraordinary medical advancements. We have the technology, the treatments, the cures. But still, for those who once stood as gods among us—doctors—the world has become an unsafe, hostile place.

We’ve all seen it—doctors attacked, assaulted, degraded. We’ve witnessed unspeakable violence and abuse directed at those who dedicate their lives to our well-being. And what do we do? We stand by and watch. Protests arise, but the truth is: nothing changes.

How cruel!
How disgusting!
How utterly unforgivable!

Is this really the example we want to set for the next generation?

Will young, ambitious minds still dare to dream of becoming doctors when they see how those who dedicate themselves to saving lives are treated?

To dismiss the work of a doctor as “just another job” is an affront to everything they stand for. It is a slap in the face to the countless years they’ve sacrificed, to the grueling competition they’ve faced, to the lives they’ve touched. Their work is not just a career—it is a calling, a devotion to humanity.

And how do we repay them?

With violence, neglect, and indifference.

The brutal, undeniable truth is this: doctors rarely have the chance to lead a normal life. They live on the edge, on call 24/7, pushing themselves beyond limits to save us.

And for what?

To be abused, attacked, and forgotten the moment they step outside the hospital doors?

The least we can do is protect them. The least we can do is show them the respect and gratitude they deserve.

So here it is—a tribute to doctors.

It’s not enough, but it’s a start. A reminder to all of us that we must stand with them, protect them, and demand a future where they are valued, not harmed.

We must do whatever it takes to ensure their safety, their dignity, and their lives are never at risk again.

Who heals the Healer?

- An Ode to the Healers of Mankind

Here's to a field of study
That has never ceased to amaze me
Ever since I was a child.

Here's to those privileged humans
Working towards the most noble of causes.

Here's to those ordinary people
Who simply choose to be extraordinary.

Here's to the yearning hearts
That have missed out on too many birthdays, anniversaries, annual days, and PTAs...

Here's to the uncaped heroes
Who sacrifice their normal lives.
For the sake of restoring normalcy in the lives of their patients.

Here's to the unsung martyrs
Who have signed a bond with eternity
To keep showing up
Every single time.

Here's to those true hearts
That choose to fearlessly uphold humanity and ethics
Above everything else.

Here's to the stalwarts
Who are worshipped by many
As saviours of their loved ones.

Here's to their sheer grit and courage to stand upright like a wall,
Enduring blows and blames
Despite being praised.
Gearing up to face any number of pandemic waves
That can seldom drown them away.

Here's to the selfless lives
That they've chosen to lead.

Here's to their karma
And to their calling to strive towards
The greater good.

Finally,

Here is a reminder.

We would like you to know that,

We respect you

And

Remember you in our prayers

With hearts filled with gratitude.

God bless you, Doctor!
